You will have a hard time finding an Nvidia RTX 4090 Card in stock, but it is not impossible.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 is the fastest consumer graphics card that has ever been produced, and it enables users to play games at a resolution of 4K while maintaining relatively high frame rates.
The card offers a particularly substantial jump over the prior-gen RTX 3090 and sits atop our GPU benchmark hierarchy with an average of 114 frames per second at 4K Ultra settings.

However, you’ll have to spend a pretty buck for that performance because the card is quite expensive. The RTX 4090 has a suggested retail price of $1,599, but you will have a difficult time locating it at that price.
Models in Stock | Lowest Price | Models in Stock |
Amazon | 2194 | 11 |
Newegg | 1599 | 0 |
Best Buy | 1599 | 0 |
eBay | 2075 | 500+ |
B&H | 1599 | 0 |
Walmart | 2249 | 2 |
The majority of stores either do not carry the RTX 4090 or have increased the price to well over $2,000 despite the fact that the majority of other graphics cards can now be purchased at or below its MSRP.
In the table that follows, we keep track of the lowest costs and availability of Nvidia RTX 4090 Cards from the top retailers in the United States. This includes the Nvidia Founders Edition as well as AIB partner versions.

To the best of our knowledge, Amazon is the only major shop that now has a wide variety of RTX 4090 cards; but, in order to get one, you will need to spend approximately $2,200 and higher.
Even though Newegg, B&H, and Best Buy are all out of stock, Walmart still has two models available, both of which are priced extremely high. On eBay, there is no shortage of scalpers who are offering the cards for sale at prices that range from approximately $2,100 and higher.
If you are not in a hurry, you should keep a watch on and set up stock alerts from Newegg, Best Buy, and B&H because all of them purport to be offering these cards for less than $2,000, with some models going as low as $1,599.
If you are in a hurry, you should not do either of these things. If you happen to reside in close proximity to a Micro Center, you might be able to purchase one from an employee there.
Another option would be to pick a different GPU from the collection we have here on the Best Graphics Cards. For example, the Radeon 6950 XT, which only costs $799, provides excellent performance at 2K resolution and respectable frame rates at 4K resolution (opens in new tab).
Check out our evaluation of the GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition for additional information on the features and performance of this graphics card. In that review, we expressed how impressed we were by the RTX 4090’s capabilities.
Our tests revealed boosts in gaming performance of at least fifty percent compared to Nvidia’s flagship RTX 30 series graphics cards from the previous generation, as well as improvements in the performance of professional apps.
