GeForce NOW Includes Resolution Upscaling and Additional Features This Thursday’s GFN

The GeForce NOW app for LG TVs has been released from beta and now contains a special deal for select TVs and five new games that will be released this week. GeForce NOW raises the bar for cloud gaming.

As part of an update that is now accessible to all members, GFN Thursday brings you an improved streaming experience. It offers new resolution upscaling options and changes streaming settings during a session to improve users’ gaming experiences.

The GeForce NOW app is now available on some LG TVs following a successful beta. Individuals who purchase a qualified LG TV for a limited time will also receive a six-month Priority membership to help them get started with cloud gaming.

With the 2.0.37 update, all members now have access to this functionality. Enabling players with limited network speed or higher resolution displays crisper graphics that match the native resolution of their monitor or laptop. While streaming, resolution upscaling works by applying sharpening techniques that reduce visible blurriness. It can be added to any game and enabled in native PC and Mac apps via the GeForce NOW settings.

There are currently three upscaling modes available. Standard is the default setting, and it has a minor impact on system performance. Enhanced gives a higher-quality upscale but depending on your machine specs, and it may cause some latency. AI Enhanced uses a trained neural network model and picture sharpening for a more natural look and is accessible to members playing on PC with select NVIDIA GPUs and SHIELD TVs. These new settings can be changed in the middle of a session.

Customize Your Streaming Experience

Custom streaming quality settings, such as bit rate VSync. Now the new upscaling modes have been a popular method for subscribers to take control of their streams on the PC and Mac apps. Members can now use the GeForce NOW in-game overlay to alter some streaming quality settings.

While broadcasting, open the overlay by pressing Ctrl+G > Settings > Gameplay to access these options.

The update also improves the web-streaming experience on play.geforcenow.com by automatically selecting the best streaming resolution for devices that can’t decode at high bitrates. Finally, there’s a workaround for launching games directly from desktop shortcuts.

With the GeForce NOW App, LG has stepped up its game.

LG Electronics, the first TV manufacturer to offer the GeForce NOW app in beta, brings cloud gaming to several LG TVs. The fully launched GeForce NOW app is now available in the LG Content Store for owners of LG 2021 4K TV models, including OLED, QNED, NanoCell, and UHD TVs.

The experience necessitates the use of a controller. It provides gamers with quick access to roughly 35 free-to-play games, such as Apex Legends and Destiny 2, and over 800 PC games from prominent digital shops such as Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect, and Origin. The GeForce NOW app delivers responsive gameplay and stunning, high-quality graphics in 1080p at 60 frames per second on LG OLED TVs.

With NVIDIA RTX ON, you can enjoy spectacular ray-traced visuals and AI technologies on these select LG TVs with nothing more than a gamepad. On the system requirements page under LG TV, you can learn more about the app’s support for LG TVs.

For a limited time, qualifying LG purchases made between February 1 and March 27 in the United States will come with a complimentary six-month Priority membership to GeForce NOW. This is in celebration of the app’s full launch and the growth of devices supported by GeForce NOW.
